About the Chief Technology Officer Role

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for steering the innovation and development of advanced technological frameworks and solutions that align with Feminist's mission. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Information Officer to evaluate and enhance existing systems, processes, and tools.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic insights to the executive team regarding technology infrastructure, focusing on scalability and organizational growth;
  2. Oversee the design and implementation of new technological systems and tools to enhance operational capabilities;
  3. Develop and execute technological solutions, applications, and integrations that optimize organizational workflows, including the use of third-party APIs;
  4. Conduct Research & Development initiatives to explore innovative technologies that can benefit the organization;
  5. Forge strategic alliances with technology vendors and industry leaders to drive innovation;
  6. Assess new technologies for compatibility with existing systems and processes;
  7. Ensure alignment of technology initiatives with organizational goals;
  8. Manage the recruitment, development, and performance of technology staff;
  9. Provide hands-on support for ongoing technology projects;
  10. Oversee consultant and vendor relationships, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery;
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  1. 10+ years of relevant experience in technology architecture, design, and team leadership;
  2. In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networking, databases, and software development;
  3. Experience in managing technology procurement processes, including reviewing proposals and contracts;
  4. Proficiency in programming languages and the ability to understand and write code;
  5. Strong strategic planning and goal-setting skills with measurable outcomes;
  6. Experience in dynamic and complex work environments, both onsite and remotely;
  7. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and initiative;
  8. Exceptional research and analytical skills;
  9. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail;
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion;
  11. Capability to estimate and implement technical solutions;
  12. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
