Job Overview

Tyto Athene, LLC is seeking a Senior Automation Solutions Engineer to contribute to the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) initiative. The Global Enterprise Network Modernization - OCONUS (GENM-O) plays a vital role in ensuring the Army remains connected through comprehensive network modernization efforts. The AGUN aims to integrate the forthcoming generation of Army transport systems to align with the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) divestiture requirements. A methodical and phased strategy is essential to equip individual sites with standardized and advanced technological frameworks, ensuring that the Army's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is prepared to deliver state-of-the-art technology to our soldiers, facilitating access to applications, data, and enterprise services globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the design and engineering of automated systems to improve operational efficiency and precision.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of testing protocols to evaluate the reliability of these systems, identifying areas for enhanced automation to increase productivity.
  • Provide expert technical assistance for automated systems as required.
  • Guide experienced automation engineers in conceptualizing, refining, and maintaining automated solutions that address prevalent application and network challenges.
  • Facilitate the development and enhancement of automation in collaboration with senior developers, focusing on the significance of clean, maintainable, and efficient coding practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, offering and accepting constructive feedback to ensure the quality and efficacy of automation initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve issues within existing automation, software, or network configurations, utilizing a thorough understanding of current technologies and trends in automation, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Generate automation-related documentation for clients and support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, specializing in the operational aspects of software and/or networks.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level automation engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions for common application and network issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Engage in and provide guidance during automation code reviews, offering constructive feedback.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing automation, software, or network configurations.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in automation or RPA.
  • Author, build, and review automation-related deliverables for clients.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in building automation as part of a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in the management of software and/or networks.
  • Proficient in multiple scripting languages (Python, Yaml, Powershell, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience delivering automation through DevOps / DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitLab, GitHub, etc.
  • Experience in building and deploying containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficient in optimizing and maintaining applications/automation written in various programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, etc.
  • Experience implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and understanding the RPA tool landscape.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. A Master's degree with five (5) + years of experience or a Bachelor's degree with ten years of experience or an Associate's degree or High school diploma with fourteen years of experience.
Certifications:
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+, CySA+, CCNA - Security, CND, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
