Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Solutions Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the design and operational integrity of program systems. This position entails full-time oversight of the Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) at a designated client site. The engineer will be responsible for developing scripts, offering expert technical support to team members, and managing server builds and patches across both Linux and Windows platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement functional servers on Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Ensure system compliance with cybersecurity standards and practices.
- Monitor and assess system performance and integrity.
- Automate processes and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Develop, manage, and test security protocols (including access authentication and disaster recovery measures).
- Communicate effectively and professionally with users as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Propose enhancements to performance, capacity, and scalability.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience as a Mid-Level to Senior Systems Engineer, or equivalent knowledge comparable to a Senior Systems Engineer/Architect with 5 years of experience.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
- Professional certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNP, or CISSP) are preferred.
- Strong background in systems engineering and maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols (primarily ICMP, TCP/IP) and routing protocols.
- Proficient in deploying Elasticsearch on Linux in a clustered environment.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (ESXi, vCenter).
- Understanding of access control models and network security.
- Solid grasp of server operating systems (Ubuntu 18.04, Windows).
- Background in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related engineering field, or at least 5 years of direct experience as a network engineer.
- Basic understanding of Cisco switching functions (configuring access and trunk ports).

Additional Requirements:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and the ability to maintain such clearance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and carry equipment weighing at least 15 lbs.
