Position Overview:

Computer Task Group, Inc. is looking to fill a Mortgage Operations Specialist role. This position is pivotal in managing the processing of both conventional and government loan applications, ensuring compliance with product, underwriting, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders involved in the loan application process, including customers, brokers, loan officers, and team members, to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and external entities to gather necessary documentation and information required for loan processing, such as employment verification, IRS transcripts, title searches, appraisals, and bank statements.
  • Promptly inform all relevant parties of any discrepancies related to standard mortgage guidelines.
  • Regularly monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and all verifications to ensure all underwriting conditions are satisfied. Work closely with underwriting teams to swiftly address any issues or concerns.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks to support the origination department, including preparing and sending commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowners insurance, mailing loan suspension notices, updating loan conditions, and providing necessary documentation to closing attorneys.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to assess changes needed for all regulatory documents.
  • Understand and adhere to the company's risk management and regulatory policies, identifying any risk-related issues that require escalation to management.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that reflects the company's values and promotes diversity.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and addressing any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of one year of experience in the mortgage industry, or two years of equivalent work experience.
  • Alternatively, three years of equivalent work experience, including at least one year in the mortgage industry, may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Six months of specific mortgage processing experience combined with an additional six to twelve months in customer service, operations, or the financial services sector is also acceptable.
