Position Title: Senior Business Analyst - Front Office

Position Overview:
The Treasury Information Technology division is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to enhance its trading infrastructure within the Capital Markets and Asset Management sectors. This role demands a meticulous and quality-driven Business Analyst with a proven history of delivering solutions aligned with critical business objectives and strategic management initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, capable of converting business workflows and challenges into clear requirements. Familiarity with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), particularly agile methodologies, is essential for achieving results under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate business workflows to determine business and functional specifications for system implementations across Capital Markets and Asset Management trading operations.
  • Comprehend business processes and workflows to facilitate the analysis of requirements and the creation of information systems solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with process stakeholders and key application users to gather comprehensive, clear business requirements through agile methodologies, including user story development, acceptance criteria establishment, product backlog refinement, and identification of key dependencies and risks.
  • Foster stakeholder alignment and ensure collective understanding and agreement on proposed solutions.
  • Engage with business users to design and implement testing strategies and test cases for application development projects, encompassing unit testing, system testing, and quality assurance testing. Oversee testing phases and monitor defects, enhancements, and inquiries throughout the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and into production deployment.
  • Develop and finalize test scripts in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Work alongside other business analysts and development teams to capture system requirements throughout various stages of the trade lifecycle, driving the design of effective implementations.
  • Partner with IT professionals to assess existing solutions or evaluate the feasibility of new solutions to meet business needs.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices to uphold standardized processes, systems, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Program/Project Manager on project execution and provide timely updates on deliverables.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic focused on meeting deadlines and objectives, with the ability to rapidly learn new products and systems.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's degree with 5+ years of experience in the investment management sector, or
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in the investment management sector.
  • Degrees in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems are preferred.

Role-Specific Experience and Skills:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets and asset management, with exposure to Front, Middle, and/or Back Office system implementations or equivalent operational experience within a major financial institution.
  • Familiarity with financial instruments such as Bonds, MBS, ABS, Repos, Futures, Options, Swaptions, FX, and an understanding of trade lifecycle events from an investment and capital markets perspective.
  • Knowledge of various message types and a comprehensive understanding of the settlement lifecycle.
  • Experience with SWIFT and FIS is advantageous.
  • Understanding of ISO20022 Swift Standards.
  • Extensive experience with systems like Summit or Murex is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and confidently with users and team members.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, with a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Proficient in various system development lifecycle methodologies and adept at tailoring artifacts to those methodologies.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, and MS Visio.
  • Familiarity with the settlement and accounting processes associated with the aforementioned financial products.
