About the Role

Cathay General Bancorp is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the operations and administration of the departments under the supervision of the General Counsel. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records and process payment of billing invoices, including data entry, obtaining internal approval, database management, and research and respond to payment status inquiries.
  • Track deliverables and action items assigned to outside counsel and consultants, ensuring timely completion and follow-up.
  • Perform secretarial, administrative, and clerical support activities, such as data entry, answering phones, taking messages, sorting, and processing mail, photocopying, indexing, archiving, storage and retrieval of documents, ordering and distributing office supplies, and other general support.
  • Support the board of directors and executive team with scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, planning, organizing, and implementing events, preparing reports, data, and maintaining files, records, and correspondences.
  • Calendar due dates, meetings, and deadlines, schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings, and training seminars.
  • Draft correspondences, reports, and memoranda as directed, review and route incoming correspondence and legal process, provide drafts for outgoing correspondence and responses.
  • Input information for Facility and Physical Security maintenance and expense records.
  • Support record keeping on Property Management and OREO sales.
  • Coordinate with Leasing Consultant and other Physical Security vendors.
  • Help coordinate drills and other scheduled monitoring activities of Physical Security.

Requirements:

  • Some college preferred.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in an administrative role.
  • Previous experience working in a bank or financial institution preferred.
  • Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Basic knowledge of Access is a plus.
  • Detail oriented, thorough, conscientious, hardworking, flexible, and diligent.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time, timely follow up on pending matters, and work in a fast-paced environment independently and as a team player.

  • Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
