J Harlan Group, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Financial Investment Analyst specializing in Middle Market Lending. This role is pivotal within a leading private credit fund management firm located in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct corporate financial modeling (debt and equity) and asset valuation.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis for business, financial, and due diligence in collaboration with the deal team and external advisors.
  • Evaluate transaction structures based on insights from senior team members.
  • Prepare internal documentation, including Investment Memorandums and transaction analyses for presentation to the Investment Committee.
  • Begin establishing sector-specific networks of subject matter experts and transaction sources.
  • Monitor and support investment assets and portfolio companies.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in investment banking, investment firms, or funds (credit experience is advantageous).
  • Strong financial analysis capabilities, including proficiency in analyzing financial models, cash flow projections, securitization models, and financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage processes independently from inception to completion.
  • Capability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to take initiative and support team objectives.
Educational Background:
  • A strong academic record with a bachelor’s degree or higher.
