We are in search of a Senior Electrical Systems Consultant to develop electrical subsystems for complex aerospace, terrestrial, and maritime applications. The ideal candidate will be a technical authority with a deep understanding of electrical subsystem technologies, capable of devising innovative electrical solutions for diverse remote sensing and control applications. You will be instrumental in shaping the electrical subsystems of tomorrow.

The Engineering, Science, and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit encompasses the skilled professionals and leadership necessary for the effective delivery of high-impact, cutting-edge technologies for our clients' missions. Our collaborative, interdisciplinary teams are dedicated to innovation, integrity, continuous learning, and robust execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance for multidisciplinary system teams (including optical, mechanical, thermal, RF, and software disciplines) to develop, influence, and define advanced electronic solutions tailored to complex client requirements.
  • Offer specialized knowledge in space-based electronic systems for spacecraft, payloads, and components.
  • Conduct objective and quantifiable trade studies that incorporate established system designs alongside emerging technologies and supplier capabilities to inform critical architectural decisions impacting the performance of various systems and subsystems.
  • Engage in electrical system-level modeling, simulation, analysis, trade assessments, risk evaluations, and requirements management.
  • Ensure comprehensive electrical compatibility, functional allocations, and performance margins across the entire system.
  • Lead the investigation of electrical hardware issues at the system level, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks during the design phase.
  • Present analyses, findings, and designs to peers, internal management, and clients throughout various program phases.
  • Mentor junior engineers in understanding missions, electrical subsystem technologies, and concepts.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the department, across Strategic Business Units, and with the Company to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

On-Site Work Environment: This role necessitates regular in-person engagement, requiring you to work on-site three or more days each week at the primary work location. Travel and local commuting between company facilities and other locations may be necessary.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may be conducted in an office, laboratory, production area, cleanroom, outdoor, or remote research environment.
  • Occasional work in production centers may require the use of protective equipment and gear.
  • Access to various facilities may occur under different weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with 16 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Each higher-level degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. The degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Secretary of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and closure skills are essential for ensuring mission success.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking capabilities to address complex problems and implement constructive changes.
  • Experience in creating and delivering space-based electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Familiarity with electrical design integration, cable and harness design, and command and telemetry database development.
  • Experience throughout the entire system lifecycle, from concept and design to production, integration, testing, launch, and operational support.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Analytical experience with TOR-level design standards, including WCA and Part Stress.

Compensation Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $218,000

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
