Lead Electrical Engineer for Industrial Projects

Position Overview: This role encompasses the comprehensive electrical engineering responsibilities for automotive paint shop or other industrial process construction initiatives.

  • Electrical Engineering Expertise: Deliver all relevant electrical engineering insights pertinent to project scope and engage with the electrical engineering group manager as necessary.
  • Project Coordination: Conduct weekly project status meetings with the engineering support team to ensure awareness of any changes in scope or priorities.
  • Collaboration with Manufacturing: Organize discussions with manufacturing and operations personnel to address any issues that may impact their operational tasks (design review meetings).
  • Documentation Management: Maintain thorough records of all project communications regarding issues, concerns, and scope modifications (e.g., D.C.R.'s, F.A.R.'s, C.I.S.'s) that could influence project completion or engineering timelines.
  • Procurement Processing: Manage all relevant purchase orders through the sales representative and purchasing agent promptly to ensure the construction schedule remains on track.
  • Vendor Selection: Choose appropriate equipment and vendors based on client demands, project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Verification of Equipment: Ensure all equipment certified drawings and performance specifications are accurate.
  • Startup Support: Provide essential information to startup personnel in a timely manner before the implementation of the startup schedule (e.g., specifications, drawings, schedule, training).
  • Assistance During Startup: Offer support during the startup/debugging phase as required.
  • Project Tracking: Monitor all subcontractor, engineering, and CAD drawings in relation to the project schedule.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Confirm that all subcontractors possess the latest drawing revisions and updated drawing logs.
  • Review and Approval: Evaluate and authorize all subcontractor drawings for general arrangement, scope, and compliance with specifications.
  • Document Maintenance: Keep documents as outlined in the scope of work responsibility matrix (e.g., DCDL).
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to job sites (both domestic and international) as necessary, both short-term and long-term.
  • Passport Validity: Maintain a valid passport at all times.
  • On-Site Reporting: When on-site, report activities and follow directions from the Project Director.

Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Experience Requirements: At least 5 years of experience in industrial process design and installation, with a preference for paint finishing expertise.
