Classification Details:

Certified Teacher: Must possess a valid Arizona Standard Professional Teaching Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education, which must remain current and in good standing. The role is classified as 'Certified Teacher' with payroll classification as 'Teacher on Contract'. Continuous employment is contingent upon maintaining certification.

Alternative Teacher Certificate: Must hold an Alternative Teacher Certificate from the Arizona Department of Education. This role is classified as 'Certified Teacher – Pathway' with payroll classification as 'Teacher on Contract'. Continuous employment is contingent upon maintaining certification.

Department/Location: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School
Primary Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the school principal, the teacher is responsible for supporting the mission of the Diocese of Tucson in evangelizing, catechizing, and educating youth within a Catholic educational framework. The teacher is expected to embody the principles of the Gospel and Catholic teachings both in professional conduct and personal life, adhering to the ethos of, "...Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received." (Eph. 4:1)

Key Responsibilities: Uphold and promote the unique Catholic mission of the school by aligning actions and teachings with the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. Exhibit Gospel values through active participation in a faith community and commitment to personal faith development; strive to exemplify the teachings of Jesus through actions and demeanor. Contribute to the development of the school's faith community by engaging in and assisting with religious and service-oriented activities. Facilitate daily classroom prayers. Exhibit effective planning skills by designing lessons that align with academic and religious objectives set forth by the school. Demonstrate proficiency in teaching by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of both academic and religious curricula, effectively communicating with students, and organizing classroom activities to enhance student engagement. Show readiness to teach in an online environment when necessary, utilizing platforms such as Google Classroom or similar tools. Develop and implement effective evaluation methods that correlate with curriculum goals and learning objectives; consistently assess and communicate student progress. Establish a consistent approach to discipline that fosters self-direction and a positive self-image among students; maintain high standards for student behavior and address misconduct appropriately. Create and sustain a conducive learning environment. Collaborate with school and diocesan administration; foster positive relationships with students and parents through effective teamwork. Attendance at faculty meetings and training sessions is expected. Uphold professional standards in enforcing school policies and regulations. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment in professional appearance and conduct. Follow directives from the principal and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned. Physical and Mental Requirements: The teacher must possess coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual capabilities, and the ability to lift as necessary in a typical office setting.
Essential Activities: Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, speaking, handling, listening, carrying, and keyboarding.

Minimum Qualifications: Strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership within the Roman Catholic Church; if a baptized Catholic, must be a practicing member in full communion with the Church. Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in written, oral, public speaking, and presentation formats. Strong interpersonal skills; must be organized, self-motivated, and a collaborative team member. Availability for evening and weekend responsibilities as required; reliable transportation is necessary. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in computer technology, including word processing and spreadsheet applications; ability to maintain confidentiality. Flexibility in assessing needs and adapting strategies in a ministerial context. Completion of a criminal history and background check is required. Professional demeanor and neat personal appearance. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or higher is required. Must be certified as a teacher by the State of Arizona, with renewal as mandated by state law. Level I of the Diocesan Ministry Certification, with renewal every three years. Employment Expectations:
