Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver peer mentoring services to assist students in navigating their academic, professional, and personal challenges.
  • Provide instructional support in various subjects, helping students grasp fundamental concepts, tackle specific problems, prepare for tests, and utilize online resources effectively.
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with a diverse group of students and staff.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Subject Areas: The tutoring will encompass a range of subjects including Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing/Language Arts, and Foreign Languages. Proficiency in multiple subjects is preferred.

Work Environment: The primary location for service delivery will be at designated high schools. The role may require evening and weekend availability. Most hours will be spent in-person, with some opportunities for online tutoring as approved.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence (grades A or B) in the subjects to be tutored.
  • Strong communication skills, both virtual and face-to-face.
  • Completion of CRLA level 1 certification is required within the first year of employment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to various high schools and middle schools.
  • Access to necessary technology for virtual tutoring, including a stable internet connection and a computer with a webcam and microphone.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring secondary-level students.
  • Ability to tutor in multiple subjects.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
