About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Estimator to join our Design-Build team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients, outside design consultants, and internal engineers to develop and procure electrical design plans, specifications, and narratives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and procure electrical design plans, specifications, and narratives
  • Complete conceptual and detailed take-offs of electrical scopes to be incorporated into the overall project budget or Guaranteed Maximum Price
  • Assist management with the identification, prequalification, and bidding of electrical scopes of work
  • Ensure appropriate construction materials are incorporated into designs and conduct thorough review of consultant designs and subcontractor/vendor shop drawings to ensure design intent is met
  • Provide technical advice to other members on the D/B team
  • Assist project management staff in obtaining local planning and/or regulatory approval for electrical scopes
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by subcontractors and/or our own trades
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in electrical design
  • Experience in the design and construction of industrial, food manufacturing, and/or cold box (refrigerated) facilities
  • Prefer a Professional Engineer license in Indiana or Idaho
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes
  • Ability to assemble bid set (RFP) drawing packages
  • Ability to liaise with third-party electrical design professionals, as required
  • Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines
  • Experience with subcontractor management
  • Experience in project management
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate with customers on remote sites (infrequent travel required)
