Job Summary:
The Senior Internal Auditor will report directly to the SVP, Internal Audit Director. This role entails supporting various audit projects to ensure the effective execution of the Internal Audit strategy. The Senior Internal Auditor will conduct assessments and pinpoint areas for enhancing internal controls and minimizing risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the tracking, oversight, and upkeep of all open and closed issues/recommendations within the internal audit software.
  • Conduct follow-ups on identified issues with Process Owners, including transactional testing as necessary, to confirm adequate remediation and closure.
  • Prepare and present periodic updates regarding the status of open and closed issues/recommendations as requested by the IA Manager, CAE, Senior Management, or Audit Committee.
  • Execute audits or fieldwork independently or in collaboration with Outsourced Partners.
  • Compile work papers for each audit or follow-up, detailing the scope of work, sampling methods, results, and any identified control or compliance deficiencies, ensuring all supporting documentation is retained per approved methods.
  • Draft and submit written audit reports upon completion of audits, offering management recommendations for control improvements.
  • Prioritize daily tasks and generate routine project status reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain independence and objectivity throughout all audit activities.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of internal auditing principles, theories, and standards, with a working knowledge of relevant disciplines.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in PC applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a foundational understanding of data analysis techniques.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through relevant educational programs.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years of proven experience in auditing within the financial services sector.
  • Preferred: Two or more years of internal audit experience in commercial banking.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA are advantageous.

Salary Range: $76,000.00 USD; final compensation will be determined based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data.
