Job Summary

NSC Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Marine Mechanic/Outside Machinist to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in marine equipment maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment, including propulsion systems, auxiliary motors, and other machinery.
  • Test and inspect installed machinery and equipment during dock and sea trials.
  • Apply and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to disassemble, repair, and build equipment and machinery.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, trade school, or industrial school certification.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Marine Equipment Mechanic or a licensed Marine Equipment Mechanic Journeyman.
  • Superior trade knowledge of mechanical principles, hydraulics, machining, mathematics, and basic physics.
  • Ability to operate, set up, and align portable tools and precision measuring instruments.
