Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled Staff Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in California. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution practice, you'll be responsible for designing and developing high voltage overhead transmission lines. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and efficient transmission of electricity to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and lead all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis, and loading trees.
  • Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and material for high voltage overhead transmission lines, including structure design and development, hardware design and selection, and field installation supervision.
  • Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for high voltage overhead transmission lines.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced staff members and lead teams of engineers as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional certification, EIT, and/or professional engineer licensure is strongly desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in 69kV to 500kV line design and working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line system-based programs (i.e., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.).
