Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse II

Children's National Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse II will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Physician, or Advanced Practice Nurse to provide high-quality patient care. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign collection, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in patient education and support, including teaching families how to administer medications and provide self-care.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely, including progress notes and care plans.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork, respect, and open communication.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the District of Columbia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 1 year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
  • Certification in a specialty area, such as pediatrics or critical care.
