Job Title: Behavior Technician

At Aveanna Healthcare, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges.

Job Summary:

The Behavior Technician will work under the supervision of certified professionals to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support to individuals. This includes implementing behavior analytic programs, collecting data, and maintaining accurate documentation. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with periodic supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement behavior analytic programs and collect data to track progress
  • Provide support to individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with certified professionals to develop and implement individualized plans
  • Collect and maintain accurate documentation of progress and data
  • Communicate effectively with team members, family members, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • At least one year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents
  • High School degree in a related field and three years' experience working with individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and competency in the implementation of fundamental procedures
  • One year experience with interventions to address maladaptive behaviors
  • Completion of the Behavior Technician training modules and registration with the BACB within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with periodic supervision
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Must be able to travel; company does not provide vehicles or transportation
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 25 pounds
  • Prolonged walking, standing, climbing of stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and crouching
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
