About the Role

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support to individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of a certified or licensed staff member to implement skill acquisition programs and provide support to clients.
  • Collect data and graph results on all skill acquisition programs, and assist in the completion of assessments.
  • Implement strategies to prevent and provide consequences to the occurrence of maladaptive behavior, and facilitate the acquisition of replacement skills.
  • Model and demonstrate behavior analytic teaching strategies for parents and/or school personnel.
  • Facilitate the inclusion of students in general education activities, and maintain professional and informative communication with the behavior consultant, school personnel, and family members.
  • Provide behavior management support and implement components of behavior support plans as instructed by supervisors and behavior consultants.
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents, OR a High School degree in a related field and three (3) years' experience working with individuals with developmental delays or behavioral challenges.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and competency in the implementation of fundamental procedures as described in Epic's training protocols and any regulatory or funder requirements.
  • One (1) year experience with interventions to address maladaptive behaviors, and completion of the Behavior Technician training modules and the Registered Behavior Technician test for registration with the BACB within 6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel; company does not provide vehicles or transportation.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 25 pounds.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, climbing of stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
  • Must be able to sit.
  • Occasional rapid movement and physical agility in response to the spontaneity of children and those patients with neurological impairment.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity.
  • Must have a strong sense of smell and touch.
Environment
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
