**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to lead and oversee the controls portion of projects, including PLC, HMI, and robotic automation designs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading projects and developing new automation solutions for machines and processes.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Lead Controls Engineering Department**: Oversee the controls portion of projects, including PLC, HMI, and robotic automation designs.
  • **Develop Automation Solutions**: Design and implement procedures and standards for the controls engineering department to assist in meeting delivery timelines, improving quality, and maintaining budgets.
  • **Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams**: Work with mechanical engineers, purchasing, management, and other teams to design and provide new and replacement automation equipment.
  • **Program Industrial Robots and PLCs**: Program various industrial robots and PLCs, including Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, Rockwell, and Siemens.
  • **Conduct Risk Assessments and Testing**: Conduct pFMEAs and Risk Assessments as needed, and develop simulation and testing programs for automation systems.
  • **Mentor and Train**: Mentor and assist associate controls engineers and technical staff in automation methods and programming.

**Requirements**

  • **Education**: A minimum of an associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with at least three years of related experience.
  • **Experience**: Proven track record in leading projects and developing new automation solutions for machines and processes.
  • **Skills**: Knowledge of PLC logic, programming PLCs, including Rockwell and Siemens, and experience with HMI or SCADA programming.

**Work Environment**

  • **Office and Shop Environment**: Most work is performed in an office and shop environment.
  • **Travel**: Regular trips to client facilities and/or manufacturing plants may be required based on project responsibilities.

**Physical Demands**

  • **Physical Activity**: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move between standing and sitting.
  • **Vision Requirements**: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
