Job Title: Senior Communications Specialist

At Alexton Incorporated, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage our employees, stakeholders, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communication plans to inform employees of agency policies, news, events, and programs.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and executing events for the ED Director and employees.
  • Conduct meetings with ED's executives and managers to coordinate information and provide accurate communication messages.
  • Research, write, edit, and produce communication plans for agency-wide messaging.
  • Recommend strategies to improve ED's units and agency communication.
  • Develop inreach, outreach, and communications activities and products to raise awareness and visibility of the office's products and services.
  • Establish and maintain mutual communications between stakeholders, industry, universities, other government agencies, and the public.
  • Create and update communications products in support of the office's mission, including press releases, brochures, web content, social media, and major reports.
  • Draft executive-level talking points and speeches for ED Director's internal or external engagements.
  • Develop and update content for internally-facing and externally-facing webpages as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of communication specialist experience.
  • Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to think creatively about how to pitch and position stories.
