In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and execution of cutting-edge hybrid automotive solutions tailored for Class 8 trucks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet product specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and refine mechanical designs to enhance manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards through comprehensive testing and validation processes.
  • Create and validate quality documentation to improve product reliability.
  • Effectively manage project timelines and component integration.
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed product specifications.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency.

Key Requirements:

  • A proactive approach with a keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, with a preference for experience in electric vehicles.
  • Proficiency in automotive design tools and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in designing components that withstand demanding conditions.
  • Understanding of thermal system design and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Strong grasp of vibration analysis and mitigation techniques.
  • Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel for supplier engagements as needed.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with electrified powertrain systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Inventor or CREO.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally handle items weighing up to 30 pounds.
