Key Responsibilities

Position Summary
The Vehicle Compliance Inspector is responsible for conducting state-mandated inspections on customer vehicles and advising them on any compliance issues.

This role may also involve performing duties as a Lube Technician and Customer Service Advisor, as directed by management.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete all necessary certifications and on-the-job training within the designated timeframe.
  • Conduct state-required inspections on vehicles, focusing on safety and emissions standards.
  • Collect and enter customer and maintenance data into the system.
  • Discuss oil options, manufacturer recommendations, previous services, and vehicle conditions with customers.
  • Summarize requested services, provide pricing, and address any inquiries.
  • Guide customers to the lounge area while ensuring their comfort and informing them of available amenities.
  • Communicate additional service requests to the workshop and gather necessary parts for service.
  • Review invoiced services with customers, process payments, and highlight value-added services while encouraging future visits.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Successfully pass the state-mandated background check.
  • Attend and complete the state inspection training program.
  • Obtain state inspection certification.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and inspection areas.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces.
  • Willingness to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exhaust emissions.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
