Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technician

Position: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Honolulu, HI
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 annually
Core ResponsibilitiesEngine and Transmission Services- Conduct repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of vehicles.
- Diagnose and fix issues related to engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
- Perform servicing and repairs on Class 8 trucks, medium-duty vehicles, trailers, and light-duty cars and trucks, encompassing both gasoline and diesel engines.
- Maintain and tune fleet vehicle engines and various equipment, including forklifts and hydraulic systems.
- Execute repairs on engines, brake systems, drive trains, electrical components, and air conditioning systems.
- Document all service activities in the Electronic Fleet Maintenance System.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all maintenance and repair tasks.
- Utilize software to manage parts inventory and update work orders, including diagnostic tools for engines and hydraulic systems.
- Service mechanical equipment by performing repairs on engines and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure operational efficiency by adhering to maintenance protocols, troubleshooting issues, and managing supplies.
- Maintain adherence to OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software for various engine types and capable of resolving complex electrical issues.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications and licenses.
- Physical capability to handle heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Possess personal tools; specialized tools will be provided.
- Willingness to travel as required for maintenance tasks.
- Preferred knowledge in welding.
- Ability to work independently and on assigned projects.
- Brake Certification (ACE) is required.
