Key Responsibilities

- Uphold the highest standards of customer service while managing patient check-ins, providing status updates, and handling phone inquiries.

- Conduct interviews with patients or their representatives to gather and document essential information such as name, address, age, religion, emergency contacts, attending physician, and responsible insurance parties.

- Verify, update, and digitize new and returning patient records.
- Manage tracking within the Electronic Medical Record system while collecting co-pays and ensuring all forms are completed accurately.

- Facilitate the patient check-out process, which includes collecting any outstanding balances, providing patients with relevant correspondence, and scheduling follow-up appointments.

- Input patient admission details into the computer system. Collect co-pays and/or payments on accounts.
- Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with patients, colleagues, supervisors, and physicians, particularly when receiving feedback or guidance.
- Stay informed and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and FLSA.
- Uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience is necessary.
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical environment is preferred.
