Job Summary

Focused Staffing is seeking a highly skilled English Language Educator to join our team. As an English Language Educator, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Achievement: Under the supervision of the principal, you will be responsible for student achievement, including screening students, determining language proficiency, and writing lesson plans.
  • Instructional Leadership: You will model exemplary behavior, build relationships, problem solve, and align instruction to the language-acquisition needs of students.
  • Data-Driven Instruction: You will be data-driven and explore innovative instructional practices, partnering with Academic Coaches to continually develop your practice.
  • Culture of Learning: You will foster a culture of learning that embraces the strengths of all students and empowers them to achieve their academic goals.
  • Screening and Assessment: You will screen students to identify appropriate EL instruction and maintain accurate records, using data to make instructional decisions.
  • Instructional Delivery: You will provide individual, small-group, and large-group instruction for identified students, co-teaching with general education teachers.
  • Lesson Planning: You will develop and deliver highly effective lessons that increase students' English proficiency, using curriculum and materials that reflect the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Progress Monitoring: You will establish learning goals and collaboratively track students' progress towards goals, proactively engaging families in the school's academic program.
  • Professional Development: You will actively participate in EL team meetings and/or academic leadership meetings, continually seeking ways to improve EL instruction for students.
  • Coaching and Support: You will coach and support general education teachers in the use of best practices in English acquisition, modeling the RHINO Way and teaching students the RHINO Way using PBIS strategies.
  • Professional Growth: You will maintain a growth mindset and a positive attitude, successfully solving problems and setting personal professional development goals, engaging in professional development and coaching opportunities.
  • Compliance and Accountability: You will maintain a working knowledge of EL programs and adhere to all guidelines and statutes, performing other duties as assigned.
