Job Summary

This position involves providing administrative and personnel security support to the unit manager and security staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily administrative tasks, communicating with clearance granting agencies, and obtaining certification of existing clearance levels for employees and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily administrative tasks in support of the site security department.
  • Communicate with clearance granting agencies regarding status of clearances and periodic re-investigations for employees and consultants.
  • Obtain certification of existing clearance levels for employees and consultants and for prospective employees from appropriate customer/agency sponsor.
  • Issue security badges to designated employees and visitors and maintain logs and records of badges issued and related information.
  • Schedule initial, periodic, and exit briefings and notify supervisors and employees of schedule.
  • Coordinate with employees and consultants for timely submittal of documents for initial clearances and periodic re-investigations and fingerprint employees and consultants as required.
  • Assist in facilitating security briefings for individuals and groups as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have military or technical training with 1 year specifically related work experience in the NISPOM/SAP/SCI security fields, complemented by formal training such as successful completion of the Industrial Security Management Course. The candidate must be familiar with the rules and regulations of the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) pertaining to all aspects of Security and have working knowledge of site-specific procedures and security requirements.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates with certification under the Security Personnel Education and Development program are highly preferred.

Working Conditions

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for routine communications. Must maintain constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote work locations may be required.
