The Role:

Backstage is on the lookout for a DevOps Engineer to oversee, enhance, and optimize our infrastructure, processes, and tools. Our workflow follows a modified Kanban approach aimed at delivering incremental value to our customers. Projects are developed collaboratively and divided into milestones, with estimates provided by engineers rather than managers. We encourage autonomy and trust our engineers to select the most suitable tools for their tasks while working together towards shared objectives. In line with our commitment to delivering value, we deploy multiple times daily and adhere to a rigorous QA and code review process prior to any code release.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems, which utilize a Python/Django backend and a React/Typescript frontend.

  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
  • Identify and resolve infrastructure issues, implementing proactive measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Continuously assess and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance processes and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

  • Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business needs. The compensation range for this position is $150,000—$180,000 USD.
