Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge technology solutions for global logistics? If so, consider a role within Amazon's Last Mile Delivery Technology team. Our mission is to establish the safest, most adaptable, and efficient logistics plans for last-mile delivery.

The Last Mile Delivery Technology team plays a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction by innovating ways to deliver packages swiftly and cost-effectively. Utilizing advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Operations Research, we support various parcel and grocery delivery programs. These initiatives require robust decision support systems that operate at scale, covering areas such as demand forecasting, jurisdiction planning, delivery channel design, and route optimization.

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in designing and implementing state-of-the-art AI solutions. This includes experience with advanced deep learning algorithms, foundational models, and reinforcement learning. A proven track record in scaling and optimizing model training and inference, along with real-world application experience, is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates with a history of publishing in reputable AI conferences will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop foundational AI solutions to address various decision support needs in last-mile logistics.
  • Define new research pathways and explore innovative machine learning techniques.

We cater to a diverse range of customers, ensuring that packages are delivered accurately and promptly while meeting the demand for speed and precision.

About the Team:

The Last Mile Science organization focuses on two main objectives: enhancing the intelligence components of nearly every Last Mile system and developing the scientific foundation for Amazon's future growth. The models and systems we create are integral to optimizing delivery efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
  • PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
