Position Overview:
As a Senior Applied Scientist at ShipTech Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in transforming analytics on a global scale through advanced AI/ML and GenAI technologies. Join the esteemed Science Center of Excellence at ShipTech Analytics and contribute to the evolution of transportation analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
  • Lead flagship AI initiatives, utilizing traditional machine learning and GenAI to extract insights and enhance critical metrics such as Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA).
  • Streamline business review processes at scale, significantly influencing operations for a vast workforce.
  • Collaborate with leading experts in AI/ML to address complex challenges within the transportation sector.
  • Drive innovation and establish thought leadership in supply chain analytics, influencing the future direction of logistics operations.

Collaboration and Impact:
You will work closely with business leaders, product managers, and engineering teams to develop capabilities that revolutionize transportation analytics. This includes:
  • Analyzing large datasets and constructing end-to-end analytics pipelines.
  • Creating prototypes for optimization, machine learning, and simulation models.
  • Launching production capabilities that enhance operational efficiency.

Your insights will significantly shape product strategy and inform future investment areas, as you engage with senior leadership to communicate findings and provide scientific guidance.

Qualifications:
Basic:
  • 4+ years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications.
  • PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with deep learning methods and machine learning techniques.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with modeling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, TensorFlow, numpy, and scipy.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in developing large-scale solutions within the transportation and logistics domain.
