Position Overview:
As a key member of the Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team, your role will focus on enhancing customer experiences through innovative and personalized solutions. Our mission is to provide proactive and contextually relevant interactions that keep users informed and engaged without overwhelming them cognitively.

We are at the forefront of developing sophisticated systems that offer intuitive content recommendations across various Amazon platforms. Our goal is to enable seamless reasoning and customer interactions that exceed the capabilities of traditional machine learning approaches.

Role Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will utilize your extensive technical knowledge and experience to lead efforts in addressing complex challenges. You will collaborate with fellow applied scientists and engineers to create groundbreaking algorithms and modeling techniques that ensure timely, relevant, and delightful recommendations and conversations.

Your contributions will have a direct impact on our customers, shaping products and services that leverage cutting-edge machine learning, deep learning, and language model technologies. You will harness Amazon's diverse data resources and large-scale computing capabilities to drive advancements in the field.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative discipline, or a Master's degree with substantial experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of applied research experience, with at least 3 years focused on building machine learning models for practical applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.

Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics with a focus on natural language processing, recommendation systems, or reinforcement learning.
- Over 4 years of experience in developing machine learning and deep learning models for large-scale customer-facing products.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and a record of publications in peer-reviewed NLP/ML conferences.
- Demonstrated scientific thinking and a history of thought leadership that has contributed to advancements in the field.
- Strong software development skills and effective communication abilities.
