About Us

Sand Point Child Development Center is a small, independent, non-profit preschool in Northeast Seattle. Our preschool is open year-round with three classrooms - Toddler, Young Pre-Kindergarten (YPK), and Pre-Kindergarten (PK) - and a huge outdoor natural play area certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a Backyard Habitat. We are licensed by the state of WA for 23 children from 18 months to 6 years old.

Our Approach

We strive to create a warm, play-based environment that promotes the development of our students. Our small center allows for purposeful interactions between teachers and children where creativity and imagination are honored. We encourage teachers and children to find new ways to problem solve, grow, and connect with one another.

The Role

We are seeking a Full Time Float Teacher to provide support across our three classrooms. The ideal candidate will be a kind, dependable, and creative teacher experienced in the classroom and passionate about early childhood growth and development. Responsibilities include acting as a second hand in the classroom, preparing classroom materials, identifying individual needs of the students, and having effective communication with teachers and parents.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of preschool teaching experience
  • Early childhood development education credits or degree preferred
  • STARS training completion or in progress preferred
  • Team player who is dedicated to the joy, growth, and well-being of young children
  • Dependable and reliable

Benefits

Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, paid personal leave/sick days, vacation days, legal holidays, snow days, in-service days, and reimbursement for STARS training. The position is full time, Monday-Friday, with school hours from 7:45am to 6pm. Compensation is dependent on experience.
