Position Overview

Salary: $100k - $125k DOE

Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer with a minimum of five years of experience in the field. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team committed to delivering high-quality engineering services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater systems.
  • Design and implement water treatment and wastewater management systems.
  • Develop plans for water distribution and sewage collection networks.
  • Oversee the design of wastewater pumping stations.
  • Conduct evaluations and prepare reports, including alternative assessments and cost analyses.
  • Perform necessary calculations to support engineering designs.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies to develop permit applications and review checklists.
  • Provide construction administration services, including submittal reviews and site inspections.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.

Leadership Duties:

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, ensuring quality and efficiency in project execution.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater systems in challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and engineering standards.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented setting with diverse engineering professionals.
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Innovative and resourceful approach to meeting client needs.
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations as required.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alaska or eligibility to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate various job sites and construction areas.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations with prior notice.
