Job OverviewCompany Overview:

HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC (HDL) stands as a prominent provider of civil, geotechnical, transportation, and arctic engineering, as well as environmental and earth science, surveying, and construction management services across Alaska. We are in search of a diligent and detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to contribute to our projects.


Position Overview:

This role involves supporting senior engineering personnel with project deliverables throughout all stages of design, permitting, bidding, and construction. Candidates with a keen interest in water resources are highly encouraged to apply.


Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Possession of a current Engineering-in-Training certificate is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with fundamental civil engineering design principles is essential.
  • A background in water resources along with experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software is necessary.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to both verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly through verbal and written means.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior engineers in the creation of project reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Utilize knowledge of civil engineering and drainage design principles.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses in both urban and rural settings.
  • Operate office machinery and equipment as needed.
  • May involve outdoor tasks and/or travel to various locations, potentially under challenging conditions for brief periods.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
