Under supervision, this role provides comprehensive support to the Special Education Department and its leadership team by identifying operational challenges and opportunities for enhancement.

Employs data analysis to question existing assumptions and facilitate improvements in operations, processes, and programs.

Collaborates strategically with subject-matter experts across all Special Education and Central Office service areas on various projects to define objectives and enhance overall service and operational efficiency within the department.

Additionally, this position offers communication support, project management, and strategic assistance to the Special Education Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee projects assigned by the Special Education Director by aiding in the planning and organization of designated Special Education programs or initiatives; formulate a project plan and identify suitable team members; lead data and strategy teams along with cross-functional project groups.

Develop methods to assess the effectiveness of new initiatives, including return on investment analysis, and provide recommendations based on the findings.

Identify project tasks and appropriate representatives to aid in project completion; analyze, measure, and manage project risks and opportunities; align efforts across offices within the district and review action plans with the Special Education Director.

Conduct project and data analysis, manage risks, identify and influence necessary adjustments, creatively resolve issues, and communicate project status and activities with the Special Education Director.

Assist in the development, coordination, and recommendation of workflow improvements within the program or section area.

Lead a team to monitor all deliverables and progress against milestones or projects; communicate findings and provide regular updates and reports to the Special Education Director and leadership team through formal presentations or written documentation.

Ensure that the appropriate decision-makers review and provide feedback on relevant documents and/or proposals; summarize and support the development and assessment of departmental smart goals, key performance indicators, and objectives; evaluate departmental performance across all areas to ensure targets and goals are achieved; manage communication and regular updates of all Special Education-related goals to the Special Education Director and others. Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, Management, or a related field. Experience gained in the private sector may be considered.
