JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the guidance of the Director of Special Education, the Specialized Operations Coordinator provides essential support to the Special Education Department and its leadership team. This role involves identifying operational challenges and opportunities through data analysis to drive improvements in processes and programs. The Coordinator collaborates strategically with experts across various service areas to clarify objectives and enhance overall service delivery and operational efficiency within the department. Additionally, this position offers communication and project management support to the Special Education Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee projects assigned by the Special Education Director, assisting in the planning and organization of specific programs or initiatives; develop comprehensive project plans and identify appropriate team members; lead data and strategy teams as well as cross-functional project groups.
  • Design tracking methods to evaluate the effectiveness of new initiatives, including return on investment analyses, and make recommendations based on the results.
  • Identify project tasks and suitable representatives to aid in project completion; analyze, measure, and manage project risks and opportunities; ensure alignment of work across the district and review action plans with the Special Education Director.
  • Conduct project and data analysis, manage risks, identify necessary adjustments, creatively resolve issues, and communicate project status and activities to the Special Education Director. Assist in developing, coordinating, and recommending workflow improvements within the program or section.
  • Lead a team to monitor all deliverables and progress against project milestones; communicate findings and provide regular updates and reports to the Special Education Director and leadership team through formal presentations or written documentation.
  • Ensure that key decision-makers review and provide feedback on relevant documents and proposals; summarize key points for clarity.
  • Support the development and assessment of departmental smart goals, key performance indicators, and objectives; evaluate departmental performance to ensure targets are met; manage communication and updates regarding all Special Education-related goals to the Special Education Director and other stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in the private sector may be considered.
