About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Epic Instructional Designer to join our team at CommonSpirit Health. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing training programs for our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage the scope, schedule, and quality of projects and training materials within your area of responsibility.
  • Training Requirements: Gather training requirements and participate in workflow walkthroughs to ensure accurate and effective training.
  • Procedure Development: Develop and document internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with the application and training.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate and lead weekly team meetings to discuss team and project-related activities, issues, changes, communications, and updates.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Collaborate and consult with leadership to coordinate activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Planning: Lead small to medium-sized projects, including creating and maintaining work plans, issues lists, decision lists, risks, and status reports.
  • Curriculum Development: Independently complete specific task activities for curriculum design and development, MST build, credentialing, and optimization tickets/fixes.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Support team members with application and information systems knowledge and openly share knowledge with others.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendor resources to manage the technical build, testing, and migration of the system.
  • Process Maintenance: Participate in processes to maintain patient data and ensure production changes for your area of responsibility move into the training environment in partnership with the engineering team.
  • Documentation: Ensure documentation and cookbooks are maintained for the training environments for your area of responsibility.
  • Course Development: Convert traditional courses into online learning modes as needed and develop courses, instructional materials, and other electronic instructional information consistent with adult learning theory.
  • Team Atmosphere: Promote a team atmosphere that is conducive to the overall accomplishment of goals, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Credentialing: Support credentialing through the development of role-based credentialing and/or assessment programs and credentials trainers in their application.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant healthcare experience, with experience in adult learning and curriculum delivery preferred.
  • Certifications: One or more valid Epic certifications, with a requirement to maintain certification(s).
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of computer technology and software training within healthcare.
