Communications Specialist

Sasaki is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the firm's thought leadership and social media efforts, with a strong emphasis on writing and editing.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop compelling stories to advance the firm's goals and objectives, with a primary focus on writing and editing for external audiences.
- Work with the Director of Communications & Public Relations to establish the overall voice of the firm across Sasaki's communication channels.
- Collaborate with designers and members of the Communications team to contribute writing to articles, Ideas posts on Sasaki.com, and other long and short-form pieces of content.
- Lead the planning and development of thought leadership and content calendar.
- Manage Sasaki-produced publications, including the research publication.
- Direct external campaigns around major firm milestones.
- Manage and update databases for thought leadership, project milestones, and contacts.
- Manage calendars of blog and social media content several weeks out.
- Lead social media strategy and create content across Sasaki's social accounts using industry best practices.
- Support text editing, interviews, and research across firm communication channels.
- Oversee the process of external mailers, including working collaboratively with Communications team members on content selection, organization, timing, and audience.
- 6-8+ years of experience in Communications.
- Collaborative spirit, advanced writing and editing chops, unquenchable curiosity about the design industry, media literacy, visual storytelling skills, exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, ability to synthesize and apply new information, and a proactive mindset.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and basic competency in visual composition and photo and video editing.
- Ability to quickly grasp concepts within the design, architecture, landscape architecture, and planning industries.
