About the Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to promote Samaritans' brand and services.
  • Write and edit engaging content for various platforms, including website, social media, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Manage media inquiries and coordinate with external public relations consultants to pitch stories about Samaritans to the media.
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop content for fact sheets, flyers, and website pages.
  • Provide media training for staff, volunteers, and loss survivors as needed.
Requirements
  • Passion for the mission of Samaritans and ability to stay current on framing conversations surrounding suicide and mental health.
  • Three to five years of professional writing experience, including interviewing and writing about others' sensitive experiences.
  • Experience in public relations, including coordinating interviews and pitching and placing stories.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to stay current on statewide and national media coverage related to suicide and mental health.
