Senior Performance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Engineer to join our growing team at Ripple. As a key member of our performance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our XRPL network.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to acquire performance requirements and load forecast metrics
- Participate in the full software release lifecycle, from design and development to deployment
- Design and develop performance testing load models and associated test data to simulate realistic loads in the lab environment
- Develop comprehensive load simulators and critical tools required for setup and testing
- Conduct iterative performance testing, bottleneck detection and removal, code profiling, and comprehensive tuning at all levels (OS, network, software, and database)
- Develop performance monitoring dashboards or tools for effective monitoring during testing
- Collect test results, conduct detailed analysis, and generate test reports
- Work with DevOps to ensure product readiness for production environment
- Continuously raise engineering excellence by proactively identifying problematic signs affecting product performance and reliability
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or similar demonstrated experience
- Familiarity with Linux shells, understanding of OS components, networking, web protocols, and database operations
- 2+ years hands-on experience in performance engineering, including load development in Apache JMeter or other load testing tools
- Proficient in at least one Object-Oriented programming language, with strong computer science understanding in OS, networking, parallel programming, and web-facing technologies
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix shell environment and programming
- Intellectually curious, committed, problem-motivated, and persistent, with excellent interpersonal skills in both verbal and written communication
- Able to work with autonomy, responsibility, and ownership over work, end-to-end
