Position Overview:
AKRF's IT Department is in search of a full-time Desktop Support Technician to provide support across all AKRF offices. The ideal candidate will assist end-users and manage desktop systems, addressing both hardware and software challenges. This role requires the ability to travel to various offices as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance through various channels including in-person, phone, ticketing, and email.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Utilize available resources to research and answer inquiries.
  • Adhere to standard help desk protocols.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Identify and escalate urgent situations requiring immediate attention.
  • Document and track problems and requests, ensuring resolutions are recorded.
  • Stay updated with system information, changes, and enhancements.
  • Review and revise help desk documentation as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft desktop technologies (M365, Teams, Windows 10/11).
  • Experience with Active Directory administration (user accounts, password resets, group memberships, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of PowerShell for troubleshooting and discovery.
  • General understanding of group policy and script behavior.
  • Fundamental knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting (wired and wireless).
  • Self-motivated with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.

Compensation for this position will range from $65K to $75K, commensurate with experience.
