About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our neonatal hearing screening program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the early detection and intervention of hearing loss in newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hearing screens on newborns in a timely and accurate manner, using established guidelines and protocols.
  • Provide education to parents on the importance of hearing screening and early intervention.
  • Record patient information and hearing screen results, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Supervise and train staff on hearing screening procedures and protocols.
  • Organize and manage computer-based data, including payroll templates, data uploads, and monthly statistics.
  • Interface professionally with parents, hospital personnel, physicians, and management as needed.
  • Facilitate the referral process for babies requiring further evaluation or intervention.
  • Monitor and resolve screening issues in a timely manner, ensuring program compliance and quality.
  • Assess and evaluate personnel regularly, using established guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and communicate necessary adjustments to management.
  • Submit expense invoices for payment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain hearing screen equipment, including annual calibrations, and notify management of any issues.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Detail and multi-task oriented.
  • Computer literate and familiar with Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to delegate.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity when handling infants.
  • Able to work on weekends and national holidays.
