About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of newborns and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, utilizing video and printed tools to educate parents about the importance of the screen.
  • Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with confirming or rescheduling outpatient appointments, addressing equipment issues, and training new staff members.
  • Perform newborn hearing screens, verify insurance information, document results accurately, and follow protocol for timely submission of billing.
  • Adhere to hospital, company, and program policies related to security, identification, infection control, and safety awareness.
  • Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
Requirements
  • Experience working with infants is preferred, as is experience in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry are required.
  • The ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments, work independently, and as part of a team is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays is required.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
