Position Overview

At G&H Diversified Manufacturing, we are seeking a dedicated Production Process Engineer to enhance our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency and innovation within our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess manufacturing workflows by designing and executing research initiatives; leveraging expertise in product design, assembly, tooling, and materials; collaborating with equipment suppliers; and gathering insights from production staff.
  2. Advance manufacturing methodologies by analyzing product specifications; researching, designing, modifying, and testing production techniques and machinery.
  3. Boost operational efficiency by evaluating and organizing workflow, spatial requirements, workforce allocation, and equipment arrangement.
  4. Engage in the design of custom machinery to address unique manufacturing challenges.
  5. Ensure product and process integrity by partnering with the Quality Assurance team to develop testing protocols; evaluating finished products and process capabilities; and setting quality standards.
  6. Act as a liaison to foster effective communication among Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams, providing solutions to challenges faced by each department.
  7. Deliver critical manufacturing insights by calculating production, labor, and material expenses; reviewing production timelines; and forecasting future needs.
  8. Compile product and process documentation by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  9. Uphold the company’s reputation by ensuring compliance with governmental safety and environmental regulations.
  10. Complete design and development initiatives by mentoring and guiding fellow engineers, designers, and technicians.
  11. Enhance professional and technical expertise by participating in educational workshops and industry conferences; reviewing relevant publications; and engaging with professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  1. 5 to 7 years of experience in a comparable role focused on implementing lean methodologies and conducting process enhancement initiatives.
  2. Proficient in contemporary manufacturing techniques including CNC turning and milling, laser cutting, sheet metal forming, welding, and 3D printing.
  3. Hands-on experience in a metal fabrication environment with a preference for minimal office involvement.
  4. Familiarity with programming CNC machinery, robotics, and automation is advantageous but not mandatory.
  5. Demonstrated ability to revise manufacturing processes and equipment to address production and quality challenges.
  6. Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, adept at interpreting complex data to inform decisions.
  7. Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  8. Thrives in a fast-paced organization characterized by rapid growth and change, accustomed to tight deadlines and the necessity for prompt solutions.
  9. Change agent with a talent for facilitating transformation and influencing stakeholders and frontline teams.
  10. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with all management levels.
  11. Collaborative team player, skilled in working across various business functions to build strong teams.
  12. Able to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
  13. Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Systems, or Mechanical Engineering.
