General Overview:
Daily Instruments Corporation is on the lookout for a dedicated Production Engineer to enhance our dynamic design and manufacturing team. The Production Engineer will play a crucial role in synchronizing onsite activities with the engineering team, designers, procurement, and specialized project personnel, while also collaborating closely with production management. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are executed safely, accurately, and promptly to fulfill customer and shipping objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the project work plan to guarantee the precise and timely achievement of production targets.
- Conduct engineering calculations related to design, drafting, and product modifications.
- Align customer specifications and requirements to ensure compliance with all sales and work orders.
- Uphold strict adherence to ISO, QA, contractual, and client standards.
- Optimize workflow in collaboration with manufacturing engineering and fabrication teams.
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings and schematics.
- Direct production phases, particularly in developing the manufacturing instruction package (drawings, routing, work instructions, etc.).
- Create job/shop routings and tailored job instructions that significantly influence production processes.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among various disciplines, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, welding, and other production staff.
- Act as the engineering liaison with other departments, production teams, clients, and vendors.
- Supervise a team of production engineers, production assistants, and drafters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing/fabrication setting is essential.
- Prior experience in production planning or scheduling is preferred.
- Familiarity with purchasing and requisition processes in a manufacturing context.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
- Knowledge of ASME codes and NDT processes is advantageous.
- Understanding of GD&T and welding symbols is beneficial.
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities.
- Hands-on experience in production, welding, or machine shop operations is a plus.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- A collaborative team player with a creative mindset, focused on achieving quality assurance compliance.
Additional Information:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
- Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
- This role primarily involves sedentary work but requires the physical capability to operate in a busy shop environment, including occasional lifting/moving of up to 20 pounds.
- Work will be conducted in a climate-controlled production facility year-round.
