Chair of the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering Position

The University of Georgia's College of Engineering is seeking an exceptional scholar, educator, and leader to serve as the Chair of the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering (CMB). This 9-month tenured faculty position at the Full Professor level is slated to begin on August 1, 2025.
About the SchoolThe School of CMB is an innovative academic unit designed to promote interdisciplinary research and education at the boundaries of engineering disciplines. With 18 full-time faculty members and over 500 students enrolled in 7 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, the School administers a majority of the gateway courses that form the core of CMB's undergraduate curriculum as well as the School's upper-level elective and graduate-level courses.
About the CollegeThe College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is one of the fastest growing colleges at UGA and one of the fastest growing public colleges of engineering in the nation. With over 1,800 computing and 3,000 engineering undergraduate and graduate students, the College has 45 computing faculty and 104 engineering faculty members across 21 degree programs.
About the JobThe Chair of the School of CMB will be expected to lead in the execution of College- and University-level strategic plans by building on the already strong culture of collaboration and innovation in the School, by expanding its reputation, promoting inclusive excellence, and demonstrating an enduring commitment to high-quality research and educational programs.
Requirements- A documented research background appropriate for appointment as a full professor, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, extramural funding, and mentorship of doctoral students.
- A background that includes administration of academic and/or non-academic organizations, staff supervision, and budgetary management.
- A demonstrated record in promoting, growing, and sustaining interdisciplinary teaching and research activities.
