The University of Georgia is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Engineering Education to join our team in the College of Engineering and the Engineering Education Transformations Institute (EETI).
About the College/Unit/Department
The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is one of the fastest growing programs in the nation, with a strong focus on opportunities for learning, discovery, and innovation at the confluence of disciplines. EETI is a cross-cutting research institute that supports research and development in engineering education and builds capacity among faculty to develop, use, and examine effective and innovative pedagogical techniques.
About the Job
We are seeking a candidate who can contribute to the integration of engineering education research and practice by coupling their research with comprehensive faculty and graduate student development programs that foster engineering education excellence and educational research across the college. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in engineering education, mentor students, and engage in research that advances the field of engineering education.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and teaching courses in engineering education
- Mentoring students in research and academic pursuits
- Engaging in research that advances the field of engineering education
- Contributing to the development of faculty and graduate student development programs
- Collaborating with colleagues to advance the mission and goals of EETI and the College of Engineering
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Engineering Education or a related field, a strong research agenda, and a commitment to teaching and mentoring. The candidate should also have experience in engineering education research and practice, as well as a strong understanding of the principles and practices of engineering education.
