Research Engineer I Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Biosystems Engineer to join our team at the University of Georgia's New Materials Institute. As a Research Engineer I, you will play a key role in developing and implementing commercial biomaterial and bioprocessing applications.
Key Responsibilities- Create and implement process design strategies for bioprocessing and fermentation systems.
- Maintain bioprocessing equipment.
- Coordinate with teammates on best equipment and procedures to enable low cost, high productivity research and manufacturing capability using developed organism and techniques.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess a solid understanding of basic engineering principles and detailed comprehension of Biosystems Engineering techniques and concepts. Must have a working knowledge of bioprocessing and fermentation techniques as well as practical bioprocessing experience.
Working ConditionsThis position will involve significant hands-on laboratory and pilot scale work including physical labor associated with maintenance of large-scale processing equipment.
