Crane Service Technician

The Crane Service Technician plays a crucial role in executing safe, professional, and high-quality inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and handling of cranes and associated machinery, primarily within a workshop setting.
This position involves working independently or collaboratively to deliver exceptional mechanical services that fulfill customer requirements and align with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Upholds and promotes HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) principles to ensure consistency with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
Responds promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, ensuring their needs are met while achieving departmental objectives.Conducts thorough inspections and diagnoses technical issues related to cranes and associated equipment in an accurate and efficient manner to meet customer expectations.
Prepares cranes and related machinery for service tasks by adhering to proper safety protocols (locks, blocking, lock-out procedures, etc.) to prevent injuries.
Removes and replaces components of cranes and related equipment, utilizing the necessary technical documentation and procedures to ensure repairs meet organizational and industry standards.
Maintains technical expertise through self-directed learning and/or successful completion of required training programs to enhance job-related skills.Safeguards and manages company assets and resources to ensure safety, cleanliness, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures while performing duties; complies with all company standards and regulations.
Undertakes additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot and execute complex repairs on link belt cranes effectively.
Demonstrates productivity by working efficiently and energetically.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to interact effectively with customers.
Proficient in using computers, mobile devices, and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, etc.).
Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
Self-motivated with a strong commitment to timely task completion.
Ability to operate a conventional forklift.
Education and Experience:
A GED or High School diploma is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Travel Requirements:
Travel is expected to be less than 10% annually.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license that meets insurance criteria.
Must pass a Texas O.T Physical.
Must provide personal tools for use.
Physical Demands:
Must be capable of moving objects and utilizing abdominal and lower back muscles for support over extended periods without fatigue.
Frequently handles materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Constant movement and use of limbs are required; this role demands good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
Must be able to ascend and descend using both hands and feet, and climb ladders or equipment safely.
Must be able to maneuver effectively and work beneath machinery.Regularly responds to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
Work Environment:
Regularly operates in both outdoor and indoor settings around moving mechanical components.
May encounter extreme weather conditions when working outside, including inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and direct sunlight.
Noise levels may be high at times, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be necessary, such as ear plugs or over-the-ear protection.
Exposure to small amounts of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating machinery.Requires the use of standard protective or safety equipment.
May need to perform tasks in confined spaces and/or elevated locations.
