Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Generator Field Service Technician to join our team at BD Holt Company. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality repair and maintenance services for our customers' power generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intermediate repairs and troubleshooting on power generation equipment with minimal supervision
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and failure analysis
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer specifications
  • Test and verify proper operation of all repairs and adjustments
  • Prepare and complete job-related documents, write service reports, and maintain clear customer records
  • Act as a team leader and mentor/coach
  • Participate in the quotation of work orders
  • Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
  • Maintain service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections, and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation
  • Adhere to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
  • Maintain all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working order
  • Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate time and re-work standards
  • Work overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
  • Complete all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely and proficient manner
  • Project professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • More than four years of Power Generation Equipment experience required; six or more years preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • MSHA certification preferred
  • Crane/Rigger certifications preferred
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must have an acceptable driving record
  • Must own required tools to perform repairs
Work Environment
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
  • Regularly works outdoors around moving mechanical parts and noise level may be loud at times
  • May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
  • Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
