Dunaway Associates is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for observing and reporting contractors' progress and quality of work on various civil infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position that requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily site visits to monitor materials, installed equipment, and schedules.
  • Attend contractor meetings and review shop drawings, requests for information, and change orders.
  • Complete daily standardized reports of inspection, including photographs, video, measurements, and written observations.
  • Monitor project completion and assist in preparing punch lists.
  • Drive company vehicle to and from job sites and company premises or home.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • More than one year of experience in construction or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in mid-level math skills and understanding of civil engineering concepts and construction practices.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position of minimum of 40 hours per week on a set schedule.
  • Outside field work required.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather.
  • Exposure to grassy/rocky or steep terrain.
  • Possible exposure to potentially harmful plants and wildlife.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting equipment up to 30 lbs.
  • Walking and climbing on rocky or steep terrain.
  • Kneeling, stooping, and bending.
  • General walking, standing, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
